ALL ABOUT MORGAN BAKER
Who Am I?
As a passionate and creative professional, I believe that the best way to learn something is to do it. As a teacher, I am a firm believer that reading a textbook is not the end all and be all of learning. Sometimes learning requires you to get out of the classroom, or approach something in a new way. One of my favorite quotes comes from Ms. Frizzle in The Magic School Bus: "Take Chances, Make Mistakes, Get Messy!" In many ways, Ms. Frizzle highlights everything about being a teacher that I want to be. I want to excite my students about learning, and more importantly, to engage them. Sometimes this results in failure, and that is okay. I want to inspire others to achieve success, and how not to let fear of failure control them.

EDUCATION
Where I learned what I learned.
I spent my undergraduate and graduate career at Franklin Pierce University. I have a Bachelor degree in Communication (Video Production/Media Studies) and a Masters degree in Education. My concentration area is in Social Studies, grades 5-12. While I love film work, creating documentaries, short movies, and other projects, I believe that shifting my focus towards teaching is the course my life is on.
Despite all of the complications that COVID created in 2020, I finished my Student Teaching, and am teaching Social Studies in a local middle school while I look for a job for the fall.

FREETIME
I have done a lot of community service work, including volunteering with elementary school kids as well as many non-profits. I was a founding member and then proceeded to be the President of my universities Ultimate Frisbee Team. I was deeply involved with Franklin Pierce University during college, and then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA.
I still enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, as well as going disc golfing. I love to hike, whether it is Mt. Monadnock, up in the White Mountains, or somewhere else. I also recently officiated my best friends wedding at Pats Peak in NH (picture left).
